Blue Effect
active from year 1968
legendary rock group started in 1968 by Jiri Kozel (bg), Vladimir Misik (voc,gt) and Vlado Cech (dr), joined by guitarrist Radim Hladik in the same year. Trying to follow-up with the progressive musical styles starting with R&B in the late 60's, then jazzrock up to art-rock influenced by British The Yes. In the 80's came to average pop- and hard-rock and slowly disappeared. However, Radim Hladik is still one of the most recognized Czech guitarists ever. Hladik made several attempts ro reunite the band, the last one in 2004 (however with nobody from the former line-ups except of Hladik himself). The band was renamed several times; the original Blue Effect had to be changed for political reasons to Czech Modry Efekt, later M.Efekt, after 1988 back to Blue Effect.
