Is Czechmusic.net contributed to Isara's new CD release on Hithit crowdfunding portal, it is imperative that we inform about the ceremonial occasion, which the launch of the CD named Láska, može, smrt...a Jamie (Love, Sea, Death...And Jamie) undoubtedly is. The band is in its peak shape at the moment, they evidently enjoy this music a lot, they have great fans at a quantity adequate to their current popularity: not enough to sell big arenas but enough to create great atmosphere in smaller halls and clubs, which is the best (and most probably the only) reward for the band, as this kind of music cannot be done here for money. The atmosphere of the concert is captured in two video tracks on Youtube, and a couple of pictures below. The band invited several of their former members as guests, as well as two fellow bands of our folk music scene: the excellent singer and songwriter Michal Willie Sedlacek with his wife Eva, and a unique latin-folk-chanson trio Rendez-fou. Michal apologized several times for having his left index finger injured, which made him avoid barre chords; nevertheless he played and sung for his life. Rendez-fou remind of the good old times of Zuzana Navarova with the band Nerez and later with Ivan Gutierrez, but in spite of the similarities, their music is distinctive, based on imaginative lyrics and sovereign, heartfelt interpretation. Isara was great by itself; the guests only underlined the exceptionality of this evening, five stars out of five by my rating. VK
